The story of Elisa Amiot began in 1884. After her husband, Armand Amiot, had passed away, the young widow decided to take the fate of the company into her own hands and founded the “Maison Veuve Amiot” on April 10, 1884.
The dynamic and ambitious lady set herself a goal, which met her high demands: Production and sales of an exclusive Saumur, which is appreciated worldwide for its quality.
With the support of her family, she quickly succeeded in making Maison Veuve Amiot famous beyond the borders of the region: from the Far East to Ecuador, from Madagascar to New Zealand.
Today wine lovers all over the world praise the flowery, strong sparkling wines of Maison Veuve Amiot.
