As a company in the food industry, product responsibility is one of the most important principles of our daily activities and is an indispensable prerequisite for trusting customer loyalty. In this respect, it is our aim that consumers can always enjoy our products without any concerns.
We have therefore implemented comprehensive quality management in all group companies. The aim is to define all processes that have a direct or indirect influence on the creation of our products or the provision of our services to such an extent that the fulfillment of all customer requirements and food safety are ensured. This is documented in quality management manuals, which are continually updated and are binding for all employees.
For us, quality and customer orientation also mean protecting the environment. This is reflected in the selection of our raw materials and materials, the efficiency of our processes and machines, as well as effective logistics.
In our company, quality management begins with the careful selection of our raw materials and especially our base wines. Our high standards are defined in advance of the procurement process and comprehensively checked when the goods are received. This includes both analytical and sensory tests. In order to meet the specified requirements, only selected suppliers are used who are subject to ongoing monitoring and evaluation. Of course, these requirements also apply to the packaging materials used.
During production and bottling, legal compliance and safety of our products are ensured by modern facilities and detailed work instructions. Quality assurance is achieved through strict compliance with hygiene regulations and constant monitoring of quality standards. Product safety is ensured by our HACCP concept (“Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points”) and the implementation of the requirements of the certification standards relevant to the respective production sites, which is also subject to ongoing monitoring by external auditors

IFS Food is an international standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) for assessing the conformity of products and processes with regard to food safety and quality.
The BRC Global Standard also sets clearly defined requirements for food safety. It is also recognized by the GFSI and is widespread in English-speaking Europe, but also in large parts of Asia and the USA.
EcoStep is an integrated, process-oriented management system for small and medium-sized businesses. It meets the core requirements of the internationally recognized ISO standards for quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety in companies. The EcoStep Wein industry solution, specially developed for winegrowing, also takes into account the core requirements of food safety and industry-specific requirements such as HACCP (hygiene management in winegrowing) as well as the requirement for traceability. This industry system was developed in cooperation with the Catalysis Institute and Geisenheim University. EcoStep Wein PLUS checks the requirements for sustainable winegrowing in accordance with the German Sustainability Code for Winegrowing in order to confirm a sustainable management system in the non-accredited area.
The monitoring of process parameters and the implementation of process controls in our production are carried out as self-tests according to defined test plans. In addition, company-specific deviation and error evaluations are created and evaluated to continuously improve the processes. Regular maintenance of all production facilities prevents the occurrence of unexpected process disruptions. Process-related controls as well as final controls and final releases are comprehensively documented in accordance with the respective quality manuals. Internal audits are also carried out regularly for this purpose.
Samples are taken from each batch of our self-filled products for extensive sensory, analytical and microbiological analyses. In addition, corresponding retain samples are kept. Together with the traceability of production batches, this ensures that the entire production process can be traced from the purchase of the wine to the consumer.
Schloss Wachenheim AG ensures that all products placed on the market meet the legal requirements in terms of identification and traceability. Traceability is ensured for all end products by the respective batch coding and the corresponding production documents. We have implemented appropriate emergency and crisis management systems for crisis situations.
